Mocha Chia Pudding By The nourished Caveman -Do you love coffee and chocolate but want a nutritious breakfast? This Mocha Chia Pudding might be the answer for you! This is a Herbal Coffee and Cacao Nibs Mocha Chia Pudding!

Why? Because if you are experiencing adrenal fatigue like so many people are nowadays, caffeine might not be the best thing for you.

Me? Not only I used to have adrenal fatigue and had to be off caffeine in general, but I am also hypersensitive to it!

“Caffeine is metabolized by the liver using the enzyme CYP1A2. The ability to produce this enzyme is regulated by the CYP1A2 gene. Slight changes in the DNA sequence of this gene determine how efficiently a person can metabolize caffeine and thus eliminate it from the body.¹
Some people genetically produce very little of this enzyme while others produce a large amount. The majority of humans are somewhere in the middle.” (source)

I figured I am at the top of the list of who does not produce that CYP1A2!

Using herbal coffee instead

Herbal coffee can be pretty much as tasty as the real deal!

I really like this Ayurvedic Roast!

Ayurvedic Roast is a 100% Certified Organic herbal coffee substitute that tastes like real coffee with no caffeine. Brews like coffee, drinks like coffee, without the edge and side effects of caffeine. It is the best tasting herbal coffee alternative currently available, and includes three antioxidant, adaptogenic, and immunity-enhancing organic ayurvedic herbs.

A Breakfast or a Treat.

When I created this pudding I wanted something like a treat, but cold, and flavorful and nutritious.  I am a bit tired of eating fat bombs all the time, so I wanted to try something different.

By the way the cacao nibs also contain a bit of caffeine, just enough for a kick but not enough to keep me up all night!

Chia seeds are great as they have a fabulous nutritional profile: 100 grams of dried chia seeds contain 490 calories, of which 38 whooping grams of fiber, 16 grams of protein and 31 grams of fat. And ONLY 6 grams of net carbs. That makes it 76% fat, 17.4% protein and 6.6% carbs (mostly fiber!)

It’s the perfect keto food!

To that wonderful nutrition you basically only need to add some matchingly good flavors and we are in business!

Hi sounds great. Could you use regular coffee with the same results if you don’t have a problem with caffine?

This looks delicious. I have an allergy to coconut; can you use heavy whip cream instead of the coconut cream?
