About a year ago, I started to explore and participate in many different styles of eating plans. They all were either too strict, left me too uncomfortable or just not doable with my lifestyle. I was just about to give up, when I discovered Vivica’s blog. The concept of food as healing really resonated with what I needed. The fact that a whole meal plan with a grocery list was available provided just the incentive I needed. I did email Vivica with a few questions and I heard back promptly with expert advise and encouragement. This women is dedicated to explaining and helping people gain back not only a healing but a nutritional way of eating.  After enjoying the weekly meal plan, not only did I have healthy eating back in in my life, but pleasure was a key component as well. With the support, information and new recipes from Vivica, I feel like I have found a style of eating that is not only sustainable, but healing and also delicious.  I do hope you take advantage of Vivica’s knowledge and meal plan.

I have been following Vivica’s eating plan for about a little over a month now. Throughout my life, I’ve always dieted and struggled on and off with my weight. I have been on a low carb diet for about 1.5 year, but I found the ketogenic diet innovative and I don’t feel like I am ” lacking ” anything like I did when I was on a low carbs and low fat diet. Back then I had cravings for sugar or bad carbs, which I don’t have anymore since I’ve started changing the way I eat. I work up to 10 hour days and I travel for work a lot, but the recipes are simple and easy to follow and absolutely delicious.

Woke up and was down 2.3 pounds from yesterday! And was dreading breakfast which was the mushroom soufflé. I dont hate mushrooms but always chose to not eat them. OMG! It was awesome! Thanks Vivica for the great meal plan and support!

I am very new to this ketogenic Diet, but vet interested and think/feel like I could actually be successful at this!
I’m not sure where to start, so for the least few days I’ve aimed (and achieved) about a 70%:fat, 25% protein, and 5% carb diet per day. I’ve tried to aim for about 25g of protein power meal, but I’ve struggled with that a little, as I used to be so protein-oriented that trying to switch my protein and fat intake has been a challenge….I’d love some tips or meal plan advise!

I invested in the Paleo Diet and bought many books but found it was costing us 500.00 plus to eat that way for 2 and prep times was a lot. Food spoiled quickly and then gained back 12 pounds! Is Keto expensive? We are both borderline diabetic with high colesterol. Will this higher our colesterol too.? thanks, Debi

    • The Nourished Caveman says:

Hi Debi, it’s hard to reply to your question, it’s a bit too generic. I don’t know what you eat normally and how you are trying to change your lifestyle, what you are buying now…Keto Paleo can be expensive or cheap, that is not the question. The real question is why not invest money in yourselves? Food is the main fuel that goes into our bodies to fuel life! People will spend easily $7 on Starbucks but not on a dozen pastured eggs….We are all brainwashed by the media and advertising and we are trained to spend money in irrelevant objects that we now deem important. But we have forgotten how to take proper care of our bodies through good quality foods.
      Just my 2 cents

I have been heavy my entire life. I remember having to go to the “Chubby” section of Sears to get clothes or my grandmother made them for me. I had the lap band and have gained the weight back (in all fairness to my doc, she told me that due to my metabolism this would happen). What about hypothyroidism? ‘I was diagnosed at 42 and am now 62 and tired of being tired and FAT! It amazes my friends as I eat better than any of them. Would this help me with my thyroid disease and Type II diabetes and obesity? I truly look forward to comments. IS anyone else in the situation of not being able to lose weight no matter what you do? Blessings to all. (-:

    • The Nourished Caveman says:

Yes Char this way of eating will definitively help you!!

  8. Cindy says:

Hello, I would love to try your meal plan but I have a sensitivity to eggs and I am afraid that eggs will be the majority of the meals. I know you have recipes that are eggless but how about a meal plan?

    • The Nourished Caveman says:

Most of my meals are actually meat, with the occasional egg recipe 🙂

  9. Betsy says:

I try to minimize red meat, tho’ I love an occasional rib eye as much as anybody! Is there a good ratio of other protein choices in your book?
