Let’s Talk S**T!

S**t, poop, or bowel movements…..However you want to call it, it’s still an important topic!

This last week poop has been the main topic of conversation in my practice!

A couple of my patients are on the detox right now and here is what one shared with me today after doing her second coffee enema. (I use them during the detox phase!)

“OK, so the enema went much better this time! I used 2 cups instead of four. I got half in and rested for a few minutes and then did the remaining amount. I think I need to have the enema bag higher because that last little bit right at the end, I couldn’t get in.  Anyway, when I got in the remaining liquid, I was able to lay there for about 10 minutes.  Then I got up and evacuated. So. Much. Stuff. Came. Out. Goodness!  It was a lot of stuff!  There was a green tint to everything and lots of little bits.  Some looked liked pieces of chopped spinach or a chopped up green.  Then there were little small hard dots. I couldn’t tell if they were a really dark green or black, they were just dark.”

Do you know why this is so important? Because it means we flushed her liver!! After weeks of preparation with the right foods and supplementation, we are now at the peak of the detox, and the liver is getting rid of old bile….Those hard pellets if left to accumulate could easily turn into gallstones…

This is prevention at its finest!

I recommend to all my patients to examine their bowel movements and then report to me.

What can I tell from that?

If they are digesting the food properly and what foods are not digesting, also if there is undigested fat, a sign of sluggish bile…

Of course just looking at poop cannot tell us everything.

Some of the gut’s worst offenders are invisible by the naked eye. That is why I run comprehensive gut panels on my clients when we suspect issues like parasites, imbalanced gut flora or food sensitivities.

Parasites are one of the most common undiagnosed gut issues that could lie behind symptoms like brain fog or mucus in the stool.

Yeast and candida can also hide in the gut but they are now easily detected with a good gut panel.
