The snacks all sound amazing Vivica, but I’m wondering on these long international flights, what you do for protein. Are eggs your only main source?
I don’t see anything that would hold me very long, unless I just kept eating every hour.
    I really need meat.
I’ve wondered about jerky, but it’s usually so garlicky that I’m afraid it’s offensive to those sitting around me.
Plus, can you keep eggs without refrigeration on a long flight?
I guess meat would require refrigeration as well.
    UGH! Frustrating!

    Thanks!

      hey Leslie! welcome back 🙂
For the long flights I was planning to make a frittata with maybe bacon or cheese and olives….but then I decided to keep things simple so I made a bunch of toasted coconut fat bombs, like in the recipe of the roundup, made bacon jerky (crispy bacon) and I will bring few avocados.
I am also planning to take with me a small cooler with a small ice-pack, although is so darn cold in those planes I doubt is even necessary!
I do not usually eat more than 50 gram of protein per day, so I am trying to focus on bringing good fats!
And by the way I think beef jerky will smell delicious compared to the nasty airline food, yuck!!

        Thanks Vivica!
I’ve not known that a cooler is allowed on flights!
Will need to check into that!
I deal with hypoglycemia and I probably eat too much protein out of fear of getting caught without enough.
I am trying to experiment with amounts so I’m not eating too much.

Thanks for your recipes and posts!
It’s helping me along my food journey!

  10. Sommer Nickless says:

    Hi
I’m really interested in if this will help me as I have to take seroquil medication for bi polar. The meds slow down metabolism, increase blood glucose levels and mess with the way carbs are absorbed. My Dr says I shouldn’t do this kind of diet….but logic says it must be the best way to go. I was already overweight and now I’m gaining more. I need to come this. Can you help?

    • The Nourished Caveman says:

Hi Sommer. I am not allowed to give any medical advice, but if it was me I would give this diet a try, as I also think it would help! Doctors can be very misinformed!
